Can I use my furnace blower to distribute wood stove heat?
 


Q. Can I install a wood stove in my cellar next to my furnace and use the furnace blower to distribute the heat? I would like to have a hood built over the stove and duct it to my return?
   
A. Can I install a wood stove in my cellar next to my furnace and use the furnace blower to distribute the heat? I would like to have a hood built over the stove and duct it to my return?
  1. The blower is likely to draw the exhaust back down the chimney
     
  2. The return system of the house will be rendered useless
     
  3. Any smoke that escapes the wood stove will be blown thru out the house.
